Anchalee Thai Cuisine is one of my favorite restaurants in Berkeley. My family and I frequent this place not only for the food, but also for the welcoming, peaceful ambiance. 

We first stumbled upon Anchalee Thai Cuisine by chance; we were hungry and drawn in by its aesthetic appeal and the smell of good food. It was well-decorated and looked quite appetizing, and the smell of Thai spices wafted toward us.

It is a sit-down restaurant where you wait a considerable amount of time for your meal to come. We came in for the first time and were met with courteous service. The waiters took their jobs seriously and were knowledgable enough to answer all of our questions about the menu. This good service has been replicated each and every time we have returned, and we have returned many times!

The menu is full of many options; there are plenty of things to try, including noodle dishes, stir fries, and curries. The Pad Thai is exquisite, one of the best I've had. Another great dish to cry is the "Crying Tiger" special, which is a specially prepared tender ribeye steak. If you're in the mood for a classic stir fry, you might try the ginger and chicken or the ginger and shitake. There seems to be something for everyone. That said, this restaurant stays true to its passion: authentic Thai cuisine made from quality ingredients. 

We each fell in love with this great restaurant shortly after we took our first bites! The flavors were exotic and complex, yet simple and elegant. The textures were varied slightly in each dish, creating contrast. It smelled great and looked as good. Everything was plated beautifully and served with a smile. That was what we decided after our first visit, and by now we have returned countless times to enjoy one of our favorite hidden gems in Berkeley! 

The prices are very reasonable, and this establishment consistently provides a great dining experience. It is a place I strongly recommend you try. I don't think you'll be disappointed!

I highly recommend trying it; I frequently come back for more!  When it comes to their sushi and sashimi, the fish is always extremely fresh. When this fish is paired with freshly prepared, crunchy nori and perfectly seasoned Japanese rice, the combination is incredible. The flavors and textures balance each other perfectly! Caffe Chiave Caffe Chiave is a cute and homey Italian cafe overlooking San Pablo Avenue in Berkeley. It’s the kind of place you go to when you’re hungry and leave feeling satisfied.  The interior design, like the menu, has clearly been influenced by Italian style and culture. Its design utilizes warm-colored wood and dark red trim, a color scheme that reminds the visitor that this is an Italian cafe. The speakers play instrumental music that goes with the Italian-inspired theme. The cafe is not particularly large, nor is it jam-packed. It holds about twenty small tables that are spaced apart enough to give each table some distance and privacy. This creates a cozy and comfortable feel.
