My blog about attractions in the Bay Area would not be complete without a mention of the popular burger joint, In-N-Out Burger, a chain that started in California and operates predominantly in California. 

The chain stays true to a small menu, plus a secret menu for those who know what they are doing. The menu and the secret menu are available online. Ultimately, they stick to what they do best: burgers, fries, and shakes.

The recipes are simple yet tasty. With the burgers, we have the combination of fluffy soft buns, fresh lettuce, tomato, and perfectly seared patties creating a symphony of flavors for our taste buds (onions--cooked or raw--are optional); you could have a single, a double, a triple, or even a quadruple burger. For those who wish to opt out of the fluffy, soft buns, they also serve a flying Dutchman. 

As for the fries, they are salty and crispy to perfection. They are an appetizing yellow color with the perfect balance between a soft interior and a crispy exterior. The fries make an excellent side dish, or you could try them loaded-- I-N-Out is famous for its secret menu "animal fries."

Not to forget: the wonderfully sweet strawberry, chocolate, or vanilla milkshakes top off a hearty fast-food meal in an incredible fashion.

I highly recommend trying it; I frequently come back for more!  When it comes to their sushi and sashimi, the fish is always extremely fresh. When this fish is paired with freshly prepared, crunchy nori and perfectly seasoned Japanese rice, the combination is incredible. The flavors and textures balance each other perfectly! Every detail is thought of, right down to the delicious soy sauce, ginger, and wasabi that comes free with the meal. Caffe Chiave Caffe Chiave is a cute and homey Italian cafe overlooking San Pablo Avenue in Berkeley. It’s the kind of place you go to when you’re hungry and leave feeling satisfied.  The interior design, like the menu, has clearly been influenced by Italian style and culture. Its design utilizes warm-colored wood and dark red trim, a color scheme that reminds the visitor that this is an Italian cafe. The speakers play instrumental music that goes with the Italian-inspired theme. The cafe is not particularly large, nor is it jam-packed. It holds about twenty small tables that are spaced apart enough to give each table some distance and privacy. This creates a cozy and comfortable feel.
