Lucia's is a pizza joint in Berkeley known for providing an incredible dining experience. I came across it by word of mouth (a couple of my friends were crazy about the place), and when I went to check it out, I was blown away by the quality and quickly became a fan.

Lucia's pizzeria is a high-end, semi-casual eatery dedicated to authentic Italian classics, like pastas and pizzas, as well as other Italian side dishes and appetizers. Even the salads are made with a signature Italian twist. 

The dishes demonstrate incredible quality while adhering to traditional Italian recipes. Their culinary mastery is hard to beat.

This is not your typical casual pizza joint. It is a sit-down restaurant with good service where you order off an extensive menu at your table, wait a fair bit of time for your dish to be prepared by trained chefs in the kitchen, are served at the table, and then when you are done, you pay at the table. The prices reflect that it is a high-end establishment that emphasizes quality and taste.

The food service comes at a leisurely pace because the dishes are intricately made from scratch in their kitchen. This relaxed pace makes it a wonderful place to visit with people you really want to talk with. It is a great place to have a nice conversation; it's not too loud or too formal. The friendly waiters will refill you cup as you sit, sip your beverage, and wait for the food. 

If that's not your thing, the restaurant also has pick up and delivery. 

The pizzas are made from scratch and cooked in a wood-fire oven at the back of the restaurant. In a Neapolitan style, the crust is thin and crunchy, yet bubbly and soft to the touch. Every bite is heavenly. The pizza is salty, but not overpoweringly so. It has a hint of sweetness, but it blends in with the other flavors. The toppings add a bit more dimension to this already complex flavor; some add a kick of spice, and others add herby goodness. The pizza is served hot with an option of spicy oil.

Another thing to note is that this restaurant has many interesting items, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free items. All of their pizzas and pasta dishes can be made with gluten free dough. The menu also denotes many dishes are vegetarian and/or vegan.

For those who are of age, Lucia's also has a large selection of alcoholic beverages and cocktails.

I highly recommend trying it; I frequently come back for more!  When it comes to their sushi and sashimi, the fish is always extremely fresh. When this fish is paired with freshly prepared, crunchy nori and perfectly seasoned Japanese rice, the combination is incredible. The flavors and textures balance each other perfectly! Purple Onion Cafe If you are ever in Los Gatos and are looking to grab a quick but satisfying bite, this is a great place to stop! Open daily from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, this cute little cafe has something on its menu for almost everyone. This shop has an impressive coffee menu that includes espresso, americano, macchiatos, cappuccinos, lattes, cafe au laits, mochas, drip coffees, matcha lattes, chai lattes, and hot chocolates. You can add oat milk, almond milk, half and half, and a variety of simple syrups/flavors. Their coffee is masterfully handcrafted with lots of care and love.  I tried their mocha and was blown away by the superbness! The drink was warm with a thick, velvety texture.
