Royal Ground Coffee

Iced vanilla latte with bacon, egg, cheese, and sausage sandwich

Royal Ground Coffee

Royal Ground Coffee is a chain that operates in the San Francisco Bay Area. They sell a variety of pastries, coffee, tea, espresso, and hot chocolate drinks as well as a menu of twenty sandwiches, some that appear to be breakfast sandwiches (like #1, bacon, egg, cheese, and sausage or ham, which I tried), and some that you would think of more as lunch sandwiches (like the #16 the BLT or #19 turkey pastrami).

The inside of the shop has a spacious feel. The tables are spaced out and big enough to eat at. You order and pay at the counter, and then you sit and wait at your table for them to complete making your order. Meanwhile, you can talk with the people you came with (the spaciousness of the restaurant makes all the conversations feel very private), or you can log in to their free wifi.

There were lots of options when it came to coffee, but I eventually opted for an iced vanilla latte. They used a good amount of milk, and it was very sweet, but not overpoweringly so. I enjoyed it very much, and it was gone very fast!

I also ordered the first sandwich on the 20-option menu: the bacon, egg, cheese, and sausage. (There was also the option to have it with ham, but I chose the sausage.) I was not disappointed at all! The flavors melted together in my mouth; the cheese and the egg, the bacon and the sausage, all balanced each other out nicely. The slight spice of the sausage went well with the saltiness of the bacon and cheese, and the softness of the egg went well with the softness of the biscuit it was served on. This, too, disappeared very fast!

Overall, I appreciated the high standards of quality and professionalism that this cafe adheres to. My latte was perfectly mixed, flavored, and sweetened, and my sandwich was expertly prepared and appropriately warmed. On top of that, the service was very friendly and relatively prompt.

I also liked the environment of this coffee shop. Like I said, it was spacious and private; everyone minds their own business, and you're not close enough to anyone to overhear their conversation. Not only that, but there is no rush whatsoever, so you can feel comfortable staying for quite a while.

Everything here is pleasant, from the taste of the food and coffee to the soft pop music playing in the background. The service is good, and the prices are very reasonable.

I would definitely come back here!
