Mr. Pickle's is known for affordable, quality sandwiches packed with lots of great ingredients, ready in a jiffy. They have a variety of meats, sauces, and toppings, and it’s hard to go wrong. They make your order in front of you behind the counter, carefully but quickly producing premium sandwiches that you can eat in the casual dining room or take to go.
The sandwiches are all yummy and affordable—a perfect quick bite. You can choose from a wide assortment of chips and drinks as well. Choosing can be a lot of fun. Personally, I don’t like to miss a chance to enjoy a Mr. Pickle's sandwich; I come by whenever I am in the area to study the menu. I usually favor the chicken sandwiches, but again, it’s hard to go wrong. From the bread to the toppings, everything is high quality and certainly not something you worry about putting in your mouth. The menu is long, and it’s hard to pick favorites.

That said, they have a new menu item that you’ve got to try!  The newest, hottest item on the menu is called the Pit Boss. The Pit Boss sells for just $9.99 and is made of tender, warm meat smothered in smokey, delicious barbecue sauce paired with cool and refreshing slaw, plus pickles for an extra pop of flavor, all served on a soft and buttery brioche bun. It’s so phenomenal that you will be captivated by its unique flavor and texture combo from the first to the last bite.
I couldn’t even believe how much I loved this creation and how quickly it was made for less than $10 before tax. The juicy, succulent meat coated in thick, delicious barbecue sauce makes me hungry just thinking about it. It really goes to show that Mr. Pickles is the type of sandwich shop that likes to go the extra mile to make something that’s better than just a simple, cheap sandwich; without considerably raising prices, they make masterpieces like the Pit Boss—elaborate, flavorful, and perfectly balanced.
There’s also a small free cookie offered with the purchase of each sandwich. I wouldn’t miss out on this one because it’s a freshly baked, chewy chocolate chip cookie that is sweet and buttery. It makes a very perfect addition to the meal, yet another small touch that goes a really long way.
Don’t sleep on this one. Mr. Pickle's serves some of the best sandwiches you can sink your teeth into in the Bay Area, and the amazing Pit Boss is just waiting for you to try it!

Gusto: Berkeley's HOT new Algerian restaurant!

'   Gusto In my opinion, this might be the most exciting new restaurant in Berkeley right now! The stripped-down, casual setup allows the real focus to be on the food and company. It’s the first Algerian restaurant I have tried in the area, and it pulls off a menu of Algerian flavors with real gusto (pun intended)! You order and pay at the counter or kiosk up front. The menu is short and to the point, and the kitchen works relatively fast, churning out beautiful, delicious Mediterranean (Algerian) dishes in a jiffy. While you wait, you might want to sip one of their Algerian sodas from the cooler; my favorite is the carbonated lemonade.
