Matsuyama Shabu House is a hidden gem that specializes in shabu shabu, the Japanese traditional hot pot dish and is a highlight of Japantown. The eating experience is worth trying, and the food tastes incredible!










Kamado Sushi moderately upscale and completely delicious choice that serves a variety of yummy Japanese dishes in Berkeley! Authenticity meets quality in this quiet but impressive restaurant.

Moshi Moshi has a large menu full of yummy Japanese favorites, including sushi, sashimi, katsu, tempura, teriyaki, and udon. It is located in the Dogpatch neighborhood of Berkeley, where it brings its unique blend of traditional and modern sushi rolls to the neighborhood. One of my personal favorites!

Kui Shin Bo is an inexpensive restaurant with a lot of cheap but very good Japanese dishes to choose from in Japantown in San Francisco. It's a little-known secret kept by the select few who like to come back for the modern Japanese menu.

Kura is a "guru guru" or revolving sushi bar with a great selection in downtown Berkeley. Here you can order fresh or select from the enticing options on the conveyor belt.

Sushi Arashi is a high quality restaurant in Mountain View with very fresh sushi and sashimi. It has traditional, savory, and umami vibes.

I highly recommend trying it; I frequently come back for more!  When it comes to their sushi and sashimi, the fish is always extremely fresh. When this fish is paired with freshly prepared, crunchy nori and perfectly seasoned Japanese rice, the combination is incredible. The flavors and textures balance each other perfectly! Every detail is thought of, right down to the delicious soy sauce, ginger, and wasabi that comes free with the meal. Purple Onion Cafe If you are ever in Los Gatos and are looking to grab a quick but satisfying bite, this is a great place to stop! Open daily from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, this cute little cafe has something on its menu for almost everyone. This shop has an impressive coffee menu that includes espresso, americano, macchiatos, cappuccinos, lattes, cafe au laits, mochas, drip coffees, matcha lattes, chai lattes, and hot chocolates. You can add oat milk, almond milk, half and half, and a variety of simple syrups/flavors. Their coffee is masterfully handcrafted with lots of care and love.  I tried their mocha and was blown away by the superbness! The drink was warm with a thick, velvety texture.
